香港是世界著名的海港城市、國際海運中心，而香港海員是一支人數眾多的工人階級隊伍。在抗日戰爭中，香港海員積極投身抗日鬥爭：廣泛開展抗日宣傳和募捐運動；開展罷工和罷運鬥爭，拒絕運載日本軍用物資；組織抗日救亡團體和回鄉服務團，以至直接參加抗日武裝鬥爭。香港淪陷後，香港海員又參加搶救被困的文化名人和國際友人，為抗日勝利作出許多貢獻。

Abstract： As a world-renowned Seaport and an international sea transport centre, Hong Kong has a large workforce of Seamen. During the War of Resistance against Japan, the seamen of Hong Kong were actively involved in the cause of struggling against Japanese threat. They extensively launched propaganda and fund-raising campaigns, went on strikes, refused to transport Japanese military supplies, organized national salvation groups against Japanese threat, formed homeland service teams and even participated in anti-Japanese armed struggles. After the fall of Hong Kong, they took part in the rescue of famous intellectuals and international friends, making substantial contribution to the final victory against the Japanese invaders.
