Review
Command and Conquer retaliation is yet the latest Command and Conquer game to be brought out by Westwood Studios.
As with the previous games in the series you get to play the good guys or the bad guys, though it isn't too clear who they are. There are two sides to play, the Soviets or the Allies. Both of whom have advantages and disadvantages.
The Soviets have stronger more powerful tanks and defense weapons, while the allies have new tanks that can teleport to just about any position on the map, stronger ships that can fire from far away and one or two other tricks up their sleeves.
Basically if you want an easier game go the soviets.
The game is played by pointing and clicking at units and giving them simple orders such as: move to a position, attack a position, attack an opponent etc.
you are provided with a top down view of the battle field and can quickly move around it ordering your troops around.
It is a lot of fun to build you base and try to take out the enemies base with what you have available.
Unfortunately the command and conquer series seems to have gone from nearly impossible to complete to totally impossible to complete.
One of its other drawbacks is that the more units (i.e. tanks, buildings) the slower the game runs. This can be especially annoying in 2 player mode.
Having said that it is a fun strategy type game, where you really have to think about where best to position your forces in order to win.
