What Schumi Says

Buckle-up! The Ferrari lead racer is here! Michael Schumacher, also known as Schumi or Schuey, is now recognized as the world’s best racing driver.

It will be a long track to jot down all his acclaims, so we simply put all his significant firsts that led to the much heralded F1 victories.

As the genesis for all great drivers, karting was his first taste of the road. From humble beginnings, his first vehicle was a kart built by his father when he was four years old. The Schumacher family had been obsessed to karting, and the passion of the young Schuey was backed up by his father’s resourcefulness on repairing karts.

Soon after was his enrollment in a local kart club.  Eventually at 15, he raced to the top spot of the German Junior Kart Championship. At 19, he had his first Single Seater Championship for the German Formula Konig, better known as Formula Ford. At 23, he entered the Sports Car race and finished to the 5th position in the German Touring Car Championship and Sports Prototype World Championship.

1991 breaks his entry to the Formula 1. Initially he ranked 12th until his records started to make it to the top.

At 25, the German pride was the youngest double Formula 1 World Champion, back in 1994 and 1995. Now he holds a record-breaking 6 championships with titles from 2000 – 2004. With $30 million on his paycheck, he’s definitely the highest paid racing driver in the world.

Schumacher answers his critics in the best way he can…. on the race track. Although the F1 icon is also into tennis, soccer, skiing and swimming, he makes it clear, “I can't really imagine life without Formula One.” If so, then how is he going to spend his retirement? Currently, reports of Schumi calling it quits very soon are driving every Formula fanatic’s attention.

“My mother and father had always supported us. They made it possible for us to do what we do and she would have wanted that we did this race today, I am sure.”
