Season In Review
The regular season for the first time was overshadowed by the
CBA it seemed. The games went on and the league seemed to have stepped back
from its awesome popularity of just a couple of years ago. We are sure it will
bounce back in the coming year.
PLAYOFF RECAP: Heidi’s Calgary Flames
won the championship and will get their name and hers on the “Golden Cup” for
this season! It is a tremendous accomplishment for the team and for Heidi.
Congratulations to the Calgary Flames, Heidi and her whole hockey organization.

Season In Review
The regular season went on in spite of the NHL’s lockout. It
was a very good season as the CHL advanced to the EA Sports NHL 2005 game
because of the advances in game play. It had a much better flow to the game.
The down side was you could no longer make players which meant a couple of the
superstars from last season couldn’t be carried over and are out of the league.
It turned out well though as the Game used has been determined MUCH BETTER than
NHL 2004. Set plays from face-offs can be called, which really added to the
games excitement and realism. The League will undoubtedly stick with this game
for a few years. As the regular season was fun and exciting. We also enjoyed
the playoffs!
PLAYOFF RECAP: The
Leafs won their 9th championship in the 12 years of the Golden Cup
Championship Series and the CHL. Congratulations to the Toronto Maple Leafs and
Owner, General Manager and Coach, Keith J. Wilson as they repeat as CHL
champions! The Conn Smythe Trophy was awarded to Matts Sundin Center and
Captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Season In Review
The regular season had more excitement in it than
it has had in a few years as two, not one, but two teams had a regular human coach.
Of course the Toronto Maple Leafs and also the Chicago Black Hawks as well. It
really was fun to have this going on throughout the season. This was also the
dawning of a new day for the CHL as we have advanced to the PS-2 and the higher
tech sports video gaming which brought to life more vividly and more
appreciatively the game than ever before in the past. For the second year in a
row the League went without a two-line pass rule, which is the usual in
international hockey and really opens the game up more to build to the
excitement of what the Cyber Hockey League has to offer the hockey fan. The
2003-04 season will be remembered for a very long time as a threshold-breaking
year in the CHL that is for sure.
PLAYOFF RECAP: The
Leafs won their 8th championship in the 11 years of the Golden Cup
Championship Series and the CHL. Congratulations to the Toronto Maple Leafs and
Owner, General Manager and Coach, Keith J. Wilson. As Coach, Keith Wilson has a
total career record through regular season and playoffs of 733 Wins, 323
Losses, 39 Ties through the 2004 championship Season! The Conn Smythe Trophy
awarded to Rene Laurent, Rookie Goaltender of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

1.‑The
Toronto Maple Leafs won their first 35 games in a row before
losing
the 36th game of the season to the Calgary Flames in Calgary,
5‑3.
The 35 game winning streak is the best start ever in hockey
competition!
As the Leafs shatered the league record set last year by
the

2.‑ Nickoli Borshevski was the seasons first

Setting
a record for quickest 50 scored. 50 Goals in 50 Games! Although
he
did not score the 50 in consecutive games it was an amazing feat, As
in
the 94 season Borshevski scored only 14 goals in a 80 game season.
The
50 in 50 games has catapulted Borshevski into a Major Star in WvSF
Hockey
this season! After 60 games Borshevski had 61 goals and 76
points,
while Gilmour had 46 goals and 44 assists for 90 points after
60
games! Doug Gilmour became the seasons first 100 point getter with

1993-94 CHL Season Review |
WvSF 1994 Hockey Season in REVUE=
The innagural season of the NHL was the first league to issue a bonafied WvSF Championship. The Toronto Maple
Leafs won the very first POTVIN PLAQUE. Hopefully the first in a long line of years to come. The Leafs had a 64 win 6 loss and 10 ties. A record point total of 138 points to be a top qualifier for the play‑off tourney. In their first playoff series it took them 5 games to beat the L.A. Kings, then the Leafs swept the Edmonton Oilers in 4 straight games. This propelled the leafs to the semi‑final series against the Vancouver Canucks. The first two games went into overtime, with the leafs reaching down deep to win both overtime games one in double O.T. Then the Leafs came home and finished off the Canucks 4‑0. The Leafs advanced to the finals. The first two games were in Toronto. The leafs were taken by surprise in both of those games by the Sabres, and found themselves in a 0‑2 hole. It looked like the Sabres were in a position to sweep the leafs with the next two games in Buffalo. The Leafs changed the game plan and their fast skating fast pass breakaway style of hockey into brutal komakazee hard hitting pounding style. The Sabre's were pounded in Buffalo, both games in Buffalo were won by the Leafs. The series was tied at two games each. Game 5 was played in Toronto and the leafs kept on appling the pressure. They won again and won 3 straight to take a 3‑2 series lead. Doug Gilmour had scored 27 goals so far in the playoffs and had 18 assists for the leafs. He had made a point in all 18 playoff games, up to the end of game 5 a record that may never be matched. Game 6 would be played in Buffalo, the Sabres had their backs to the wall, and the leafs gave them no mercy! Doug Gilmour was stopped by Grant Fuhr and wasn't given an opportunity to even keep his streak, he had no assists! However another 58 goal scorer from the regular season shined by scoring 3 times with a blistering one‑timer and a quick wrist shot along with a empty netter. Glenn Anderson propelled the Leafs to the championship 4 games to 2 games. The Leafs were King! The Potvin Plaque got its name from the series winning goaltender and bears his Rookie card! The first line of the Leafs scored 172 goals between them during the season. (Gilmour‑58, Anderson‑58, Anderchuck‑56,).Peter Zezel scored 6 playoff goals, 5 of them were shorthanded. Felix Potvin finished the season with a goals against average of 2.92!!!!!!! The leafs will have a tough time repeating as POTVIN PLAQUE winners, even a tougher time matching there 64‑6‑10 record from 1994! Any team would!!
Records of goals and assists are listed in the official WvSF Record Book and the championship winning game in on the WvSF CHAMPION VIDEO. See the Wilson video Sports Federation's Shelf of Fame for these items. The greatest team achievement next to winning the Potvin Plaque would have to be Toronto's 17 game winning streak which could possibly last for seasons to come!

A New League Takes Shape |
The new league was begun in late 1993 as the Super
Nintendo was purchased for the Wilson home. This after it was rented and NHL 94
was rented, as well as Madden 94 and also the EA sports baseball game would
soon come. In earlier times a tabletop hockey game was used for tournaments and
competition in the late 80’s and in the mid-late 70’s but no league ever was
formed from that. These are the early days of the roots of the fore fatherhood
of the CHL. Just the same as the Checker Football League has it’s roots in
becoming what is today the Cyber Football League. Back in the early days a
player was controlled by metal rods which ran under the artificial ice surface
to the back of the game table where the human player would push and pull the
player along his “slot” of the playing surface turning the rod with his fingers
which would twirl the player enabling him to shoot the puck or make a pass and
block and steal the puck from the opponent. It was hoped in those days for a
league to form, but it was not possible because only the future owner of the
CHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, Keith J. Wilson and League Commissioner had the
desire to make it happen. Although a couple tournaments were organized. Should
the technology of today have existed in that day, the League would be that many
in years old. Once again a boy’s dreams became a manhood reality in the video
gaming era of today’s technology as Cyber Hockey League Teams compete for the
Golden Cup, the Stanley Cup of the Cyber Hockey Leagues World.
