Season In Review

This Season was another outstanding season as the CFL celebrated it’s 25th Season, and 30 years since it’s inception! It’s first organized year was the 1977 season when the game was played with Gumball Machine Football Helmets and a Mini Football off of a neighbors Birthday Cake! Dice were used to move the guys in this first year after “Pre-Organized” Days when a move was a measurement of extended thumb to index finger, Wow has this league come a long way! Later “Play Cards” were instituted, and the board game was updated somewhat, to make for “Faster Play” in which a play took about two minutes to complete! Later on the League folded for lack of interest before being re-born in 1994 in the Modern Video Era on the Super-Nintendo when Keith found EA Sports Madden 94. The CFL’s Legacy was re-born and continued as he found a “Plaque” on a home video which displayed all of the “Old Era” Championship Teams & Years which enabled the League to pick up right where it left off!

The Chicago Bears Are The first “Game Console Coached” Team, coached by the PlayStation 2 to finish the regular season undefeated! The 1994 Dallas Cowboys coached by Carlene Wilson finished the regular season 16-0 before the “Bye Week” was instituted, before crushing the Arizona Cardinals 21-7 while battling a 103 temperature with the flu, and then crushing Terry’s 49ers 63-37 to get to Cyber Bowl XII (The First Video Championship of The League) before losing to Keith’s Bills 52-48 committing 8 turnovers in the game! The 1994 Dallas Cowboys finished the season 18-1 that 1 loss, Cyber Bowl XII in Cyber Pasadena California in the Rose Bowl at the hands of the Buffalo Bills. In 1997 The only CFL team to have a perfect season played. That was Keith’s Buffalo Bills, he coached them to a 16-0 perfect season then defeated the Colts 52-6 in the divisional playoff game before earning a trip to Cyber Bowl XV by getting by the Denver Broncos 40-33. Cyber Bowl XV was a 24-10 win over the San Francisco 49ers for Keith’s Buffalo Bills in Cyber San Diego California to finish a perfect 19-0 season for Keith’s Buffalo Bills. Now this year’s Perfect Chicago Bears owned by Bryan and coached by the PS-2 face the only unbeaten team ever in CFL history, the Buffalo Bills who rightfully, in Cyber Bowl XXV are the team who can stop the Bears, and win the Championship, or the Winner Take All!

In celebration of the Silver Season, and Thirty Years since the beginning of the CFL every team is wearing it’s “Throw Back” Uniform this year in commemoration of the 25th Season and to celebrate the 30 year birthday of the CFL. The League is celebrating with Cyber Bowl XXV which this year takes place in Cyber “Tempe Arizona”, in Murray Utah! As you can see from above, it has the League Founder’s Team, the Buffalo Bills against The Chicago Bears. It is Fitting the Chicago Bears are in the game because one of the names the Championship Trophy Bares is George Halas, the Late Owner of the Chicago Bears. He helped form the NFL in 1920. We in the CFL Honor him, and the Tradition he brings to Football, and it’s legacy. We congratulate the Chicago Bears & the Buffalo Bills of the Cyber Football league for earning their place in Cyber Bowl XXV!

Cyber Bowl XXV in Cyber Tempe Arizona, saw the Buffalo Bills take an early 7-0 lead over the Unbeaten, un-tied Chicago Bears before trailing 21-7. The  Bills battled back and tied the game before Chicago took a 28-21 lead. There was no scoring in the third quarter, but in the forth quarter Buffalo kicked 2 field goals to trail 28-24 going and then Chicago’s last TD made it 35-24 before Buffalo’s second splitting of the up-rights to trail 35-27. With just under two minutes to go and Buffalo’s defense coming up big time and time again, Buffalo scored a TD to make the score 35-33 and Buffalo had to gamble and go for two. With a new play inserted that week the Bills bull dozed their way into the end zone on a Power Run by Bo Rasheed to tie the game at 35-35. One last time the Bills defense went above and beyond and stopped the number one rushing offense and total offense in the league forcing the Bears to punt. At this time the Bears pretty much were expecting the Bills to kill the clock and take their chances in Sudden-Death Overtime. That wasn’t the case as the Bills took the ball at their own 16 and marched down the field with less than a minute to go hoping to give kicker Vanderjaght a chance to kick the winning field goal. It wasn’t necessary as with seconds to go James Wilson hooked up with a wide open Nate Meinkle for a 64 yard pass for the game leading TD to give the Bills a 42-35 lead with only 9 seconds left. The Bears downed the kick, and connected to the 49 quickly leaving them with two long shots for the end zone. The first was a sack by the Bills, and the second was an short with many defenders to stop the play with little to no hope of success. The Bills for the second time in team history under Keith stopped a team from “the perfect season” the last time in 1994 against the Carlene Wilson coached Dallas Cowboys. This like that game was a come from behind victory for the Bills! In the modern era this gives “Gary Kubiak” the “Cyber Coach” his first Cyber Bowl Win, and Keith his 17th League Championship in 25 seasons! The MVP was Bills QB James Wilson who led the team to victory without any turnovers, which has been the knock on him in the past. Congratulations to Keith Wilson and his Video Buffalo Bills, Champions of the CFL for the first time this Century and of the 2007 season.
