The latest look at the Heisman watch, Kansas’ WR-Keith Taylor seems to be in the lead right now, followed closely by Texas Tech’s WR-Michael Crabtree, Miami of Florida’s QB-Terry Wilson, Illinois’ QB-Juice Williams, and Clemson’s WR Aaron Kelly. The strongest conferences in order from strongest to weakest are as follows: The SEC, then the ACC surprisingly, followed by the Big 12, then the Big East, Big Ten, Mountain West, then the Pac-10, WAC, Sun Belt, MAC and wrapped up with Conference USA.
CCAA Week 12 Brings Some Huge Match-Ups!!!
With week 12 next week, here are the most exciting match-ups and Rivalry games to be aware of: Little Keith’s Utah State goes into Pocatello to take on Emily’s Idaho State Bengals. Minnesota travels to Madison to battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe against Wisconsin! Virginia Tech travels to Miami of Florida to try and knock them out of the unbeaten ranks in a ACC battle. 7-2 Notre Dame travels to 8-1 Navy! Bowl Eligible Indiana travels to Penn State, #15 Ohio State goes to Champaign, Illinois to take on #11 Illinois, Eastern Carolina goes for it’s first win in Hattiesburg MS against Southern Miss. Connecticut travels to Syracuse for a Derek at Nadine battle in the Big East, Georgia travels to Auburn for that Carlene/Kiona vs Riggs matchup, Mississippi State goes to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama Kailly vs Jackson, Missouri vs Iowa State for the Telephone Trophy in Ames Iowa, Tulsa vs Houston, Boise State vs Idaho Allen R. vs Aunt Deb C., Texas A&M vs Baylor, a big showdown in the WAC as two 7-2 teams clash New Mexico St. vs #24 Fresno State, Janelle’s South Carolina Game Cocks face off against her father Brian’s #9 Florida Gators! This should lead into an exciting final three weeks after that as everyone has their eyes on BYU going into Athens Georgia to face the Georgia Bulldogs in week 14, which would be #5 vs #3 if the rankings hold up! Also week 15 when #21 University of Southern Florida faces #2 West Virginia, both at 9-0 right now in a Big East Show Down!!!
CFL’s Coach Mode Working Surprisingly Well!
The CFL made the decision to try the League in “COACHES MODE” for the 2008 season, to everyone’s surprise, this is working better than expected! There is more participation, even Dorisa is coaching her team on the sidelines and her Saint’s are doing well! I think the test will be a few years down the road with contract signings and draft picks coming more into play along with the salary cap. Keeping Talent on a team, and only being able to call the plays from the sidelines rather than control the action with your controller takes a lot of the “Video Game” aspect of the game out, and puts emphasis on the FOOTBALL aspect of the game! This is the goal we want to achieve said CFL commissioner Wilson. We want anyone with a knowledge of football to be able to participate without worrying about having to know how to play a “Video Game”, we would rather have them know how to play FOOTBALL, after all it is a love of FOOTBALL, for which we have the leagues in the first place. Love of Family togetherness and the spirit of competition, this is the sole purpose of having the CFL, it has always been the hope and dreams of the CFL ever since it’s inception back in the 70’s! First I tried to involve my father, but the checker board strategy game was to slow and not exciting enough for his interest. Then it finally switched to the Video Game Format in 1994, and we had interest again. It faded to a one man show again basically until this season where more than one person is participating again! It really makes the game fun and exciting when you watch someone else coaching, calling the plays, and sending them into the QB and watching them being executed, and seeing the strategies and game plans in action. The computer athlete is the guy who has to make it happen, not some guy with a controller! So it’s all up to the coach, and the G.M., to build and sign and watch the team perform based on what you call into the game in different situations. Perhaps not as many human run teams will win championships, but the great thing is, anyone who likes football can play!

Standings Tell The Tale!
As you can see by looking, the Standings tell the tale, especially by looking at the Division Records. That is where it will count, and that is the important thing next to the overall record for making it into the playoffs. A team with a good division record will make the playoffs, and a team with a good conference record will make the playoffs. It is very interesting as we move into the final 7 weeks to see who will maintain balance and good play and who will not. That is the thing to watch!
Coaches Mode Interesting Test For League!
The coaches mode is working well, and it is the consensus of the League Commissioner that this will probably continue on. “This is working well, while the college level works well for those still wanting to test their video gaming skills” Wilson said at a press conference last week. This brings into play the ability to coach and run a franchise more so than video gaming skills, and we like that, that is what the league is all about, coaching and strategy. The execution is up to the cyber players on each team and the skill level you as a general manager are willing to pay for. If your willing to pay for Quarterback protection, you’ll pay for high skilled linemen. If you want to go with the great defense, then spend your money there, it will be very interesting to see where the computer controlled teams are spending there money and their picks in the draft as compared to human run teams. Now that the Cap Penalties are all wiped out, this will get interesting as the years go by. Who will put their team in jeopardy money wise, and who will play it straight, to see the cycles and the spending will be interesting Wilson said. It is interesting to see that the two “human” coached teams are doing so well. They aren’t running away with the thing, yet at the same time they aren’t being buried either! I think it is interesting to watch as prices are set, finances are controlled and an owner has to make money as well as try and put a winning product on the field. If you don’t put a winning team on the field your not going to attract fans, and if you don’t attract fans, your not going to make any money! Funny, you can see different money strategies going on, the teams who spend enough to get by, and the ones who go all out to put the best possible team out there that they can! Over the future years it will be interesting to see who will benefit the most as in a couple years we will start to post the financial gains as well, almost like the stock page of the paper and you will know who spends wisely, and who doesn’t, along with who is the most competitive on the field.
CLB Baseball Playoffs Start Next Week!
Yup, it’s that time again, time to be interested in baseball, and so the CLB playoffs will start next week as soon as the regular season is simulated!
Other Notes:
With things the way they are now, some of our leagues are in the back-ground and no longer in the forefront. Their leagues still continue “Simulation Play”, we basically let the PS-2 play all the games and determine the champion. There are drafts and some human element in that, but the coaching and controls are all in the PS-2 computer. Don’t worry about it, the leagues are continuing, and we will advise you of the champions. Some sports have been discontinued though, interest is just not there. We will have an occasional golf tourney or car race, but the “Seasons” just aren’t in the schedule anymore.
Thank you for your Interest in Cyber Sports!
