Magical Focals
Focals are items used in magic to help you focus on your
magical goal. They also help you amplify and direct magical
energies. Select the focals that match the intention of your
magic. It is a good idea to combine magical focals-candles,
oils, and stones, as well as magical tools, foods, and sound,
so that your senses are engaged as fully as possible.
Auditory Focals-Music, sound, your voice, vibration,
singing, chanting, drumming, humming, breathing, waterfalls,
rivers, animal calls, the wind, falling rain, hail, snow,
oceans, fountains, birds and rhythmic electronic sounds such
as the sound of the engine of your car or a hottub motor
Gustatory Focals-Food and beverages, things you taste
and ingest
Intuitive Focals-Things that represent a divine or magical
experience you have had: ritual jewelry, talismans, tools, and
certain symbols such as runes, serve as intuitive focals
Kinesthetic Focals-The colors, textures, feel, and shapes
of things; things you touch; runes are ideal kinesthetic focals
because you pick them up in your hands and imprint them with your
personal energy
Olfactory Focals-Things you smell: essential oils, perfumes,
scented candles, foods, campfires, incense, etc.
Visual Focals-Things you can see: photographs, symbols
(including rune symbols), drawings, paintings, flowers, shells,
trees, the sun, moon, stars, crystals, and stones
