Using all twenty-four runes. The Futhark Layout gives the most comprehensive reading of any of the previous layouts. Because the nature of this spread is a personal overview of the next year, the Futhark Layout is the perfect reading for New Year's day. The question you ask in this reading will relate to the influences that will affect you over the next twelve months. The Futhark Layout also takes more time than other readings. You not only need to pull all the runes, but also to read each one in relation to the rune that rules its position in the aett. It is suggested you write this rune reading down in your journal and take a look at it from time to time over the next few months. This will give you added perspective and help you to understand the reading fully. Spend at least five minutes mixing the runes or rune cards while you focus on your life over the next year.
