This eleven-rune layout is similar to the
Grid of Nine, but with two additional linking
runes that represent the cosmic axis, the
passage between the three worlds (Utgard,
Midgard, and Asgard).
Think of the question and mix the runes as
usual. Pull out eleven runes, one at a time,
and place them faceup, beginning with the
first rune at the base of the central column.
Then place the second rune to its left, and
the next to the right of it. These three runes
represent the lower level of the cosmic axis.
The fourth rune is positioned directly above
the first rune, and serves as the lower-link
rune. Put the fifth rune or card directly above
the fourth, and then runes six and seven to its
left and right, respectively. These three runes
create the central level of the cosmic axis.
Place the eighth rune above the fifth (middle)
rune. This is the upper-link rune that joins the
middle tier with the upper one. Place the ninth
rune just above the upper-link rune, with runes
ten and eleven to the left and right, respectively.
Rune #1:
The central rune reflects the major past influence
on the questioner.
Rune #2:
The second rune denotes the unconscious response
to this major past influence.
Rune #3:
The third rune signifies the conscious response
to this major past influence.
Rune #4:
The fourth (lower link) rune represents the results
of the influences that have led to the present state
of affairs.
Rune #5:
The fifth rune denotes the present.
Rune #6:
The sixth rune suggests current unconscious responses.
Rune #7:
The seventh rune shows current conscious responses.
Rune #8:
The eighth (upper link) rune reveals the results of
the present influences if you do nothing to alter the
flow of energies.
Rune #9:
The ninth (center) rune signifies the major outcome
of the question at hand.
Rune #10:
The tenth rune shows the unconscious response to
the outcome.
Rune #11:
The eleventh rune represents the conscious response
to the outcome.
