Low Carb Diet Alert

Well the worse has happened, I am now on dialysis three times a week. I have developed kidney disease and the main source of this problem was from the low carb diet and the long term use of aspirin products for my arthritis. I just wanted to let you know what they don't tell you in the books. Due to taking lodine since 1990 for my arthritis and being on the low carb diet I have developed kidney failure. I have recently returned from the hospital for the forth time where I started dialysis. From the biopsy of my kidney they determined all the protein from the diet along with the extended use of lodine caused my renal failure. If you are taking any kind of aspirin or aspirin products and go on the diet you run the risk of kidney damage. Be sure to have you blood tested often. I still believe in the diet as a short term weight loss program and have kept my diet page included on my web site. Please be careful and check with your doctor often.

I have found a way to combine both my loves, the computer and crafting. Besides sewing and quilting, cross stitch, chicken scratch and crocheting are other enjoyable pass times. I have always enjoyed working with my hands and am especially pleased when I know I have created something myself. I don't insist on excellence in my projects, if I did I would have given up years ago and been very bored. If you have access to a sewing machine give sewing a try. Be sensible about your first project, keep it simple and don't expect perfection. It is such a rewarding experience. I don't deny that practice makes perfect but once you understand the basics, you will be surprised at the satisfaction you will feel upon completion of a stitched project.

All of these Barbie outfits are my own Barbie Creations handmade by me to sell and for the grand-daughters. They are now broken down into two separate pages to allow them to load faster.
