My Barbie Creations

I have found that the McCall patterns I have used thus far are big and have to be sized down. I will be making a Simplicity dresses are better proportioned. The "Barbie Bazaar" pattern was a little to tight in the waist and posterior but fine in the bust.

The snapshots were done by my very talented daughter Patti. She also styles the hair, designes and makes the jewlery the dolls are wearing. I am making some doll clothes for my Grandaughters Chelsea and Lauren. They have more Barbie's than I can count. Maybe, just maybe, I'll make a keeper that meets my fancy.

Don't you wish we looked this good.

This gorgeous Barbie is ready to step out and celebrate this New Years Eve. She wears a strapless full length gown that tapers to knees in front. The skirt has tiny metallic gold dots that trick the eye and change color at every movement. Her coat of liquid gold festive foil is fully lined with black that complements the white faux fur collar. A muff completes this stunning outfit.
Last week I made a few more Barbie Outfits, as always my daughter Patti does the hair and makes the jewelry. Another bride doll and I am most pleased with the peach colored outfit, could she be the Maid of Honor??
I thought the red satin with black velvet skirt would make a great christmas evening dress, it has a gold sequin belt velco hook at the back. The white satin gown has a stole.

Radiant In Red---Doesn't patti do wonders with the hair and jewelery.

This pink satin gown with stole was
McCalls Craft 2549.

Red satin and lace gown with stole,
made from McCalls Craft 2505.

Another McCalls 2549, Patti sold this Barbie to a friend.

On this cold snowing day I made a winter evening outfit for Barbie. The pattern is from "Simplicity Crafts 8481. The bodice is maroon satin with a black velvet skirt. Also a nice fur stole to keep her warm.

Barbie needs to relax a bit with a halter and jean outfit made from "Mc Call's Craft 9663. As you can see this is only a scanned copy, Patti will perform her miracles with the camera later.

The red satin Barbie dress a "Simplicity Crafts 8481" with a lace cape. This is Patti's favorite.

The pattern for the satin cream dress was obtained from the book "Barbie Bazaar" Dec 1999 issue. The satin teal dress made from McCall's Craft pattern 2549.

The dress was made from fabric purchased at Walmart and obtained from the book "Barbie Bazaar" Dec 1999 issue. The picture does not do the fabric justice, it is quite beautiful, iridescent--changing colors as the light hit it. The black satin cape from McCall's Craft pattern 2549. This is by far my favorite and I will be making another garmet soon with this fabric.

This light blue dress was patterned after dress was obtained from the book "Barbie Bazaar" Dec 1999 issue. The jacket I designed myself. This doll is now in Lauren's Barbie Doll collection.

This green dress is the same dress Barbie is holding in one of the photos near the top of this page.

This dark blue satin dress was from McCalls Craft pattern 9663. It was to big for my Barbie and some adjustments had to be made.
