Applique Quilting

I love to hand and machine applique.

A photo of my home to the left, to the right my applique interpretation transfered to fabric. Quilt measures 32" x 25". 02/14/03

To the left a sketch of the photo that I made the working pattern from. To the right the second quilt. Remember everything will be reversed on your finished quilt so flip the sketch horizonal. This quilt measures 54" x 42"- 04/17/03.

To the left is a whiteware piece I painted about 35 years ago for my bathroom when my son was young. In the middle is a sketch I used to make the quilt, to the right my finished quilt. As you can see I forgot for flip my sketch so my quilt is a mirror image of the sketch. I used machine embroidery to enhance the quilt. 06/09/03

August, 2002 - These cute little Sunbonnet Sues have machine embroidery to compliment their background design. The Sue to the right has embroidery birds, sun and flowers that add a touch more interest.

>A combination of quilting and machine embroidery completes the quilt named "Barbie's Friend Sue". The dog was sewn on white felt and the cloud on tulle then stitched onto the quilt over the outline stitching. 07/16/02

March, 2001
I made this quilt for my bedroom wall at the cabin. Feb-2002

Polar fleece was used for the backing on the grandkids quilts below. Much easier to work with and really soft and cuddly.
