             NURSE

Nurse Nurse! I hear my name
One more time and I'll go insane,
I love my job I really do
I appreciate me: Do you?

Sometimes when I'm feeling down
As I do my evening round,
I look at you, You look at me
What do you see?

Not the me behind my whites,
As I switch off the lights,
And tuck you up for the night
Safeguarding you till morning light,

Im a person, same as you
With thoughts and feelings, same as you I care for you, Do you care for me?
Again I ask what do you see?

Do you see my sallow eyes?
Or my hidden tears and cries,
So much suffering, so much pain
I witness as I hear my name.

We are worth our weight in gold
Or should I say so I'm told,
Nurses feel like the forgotten few
Just like those of world war two.
