It was not a coincidence that three Philippine Science High School Western Visayas students claimed first place each in their respective categories as the school stamped its class in the Division of Iloilo City Super Quiz Bee held at Iloilo City National High School October 12.
Varsolo Sunio, IV-Graviton, Kristina Lim, III-Beryllium, and Krishna Jontaciergo, III-Neon pocketed P1,000 each as they dominated the science, math, and spelling categories respectively.
Of the winners, however, it was only Sunio who would be qualified to join the national finals. He has already conquered the Super Quiz Bee regional eliminations at Passi City held Nov. 10 and 11.
The super quiz bee contest is an annual competition sponsored by the Quiz Bee Foundation.
Lim will move to the regional math contest sponsored by the Department of Education Regional Office VI to be held November 18 also at Passi City.
