Say hello to refund!
The Philippine Science High School-WV Multi-Purpose Cooperative is now returning its earnings to its members in the form of refunds and diveidends.
 According to Mr. Larry Locaray, Chariman of the MPC, this tock dividends are possible because the MPC has "earned enough and have corrected defects in our financial and recording system."
Stock dividend is a means wherein the MPC can return the income to its members without suffering losses, he added.
"The dividends are paid to each member but he can't take it out unless he leaves the coopertive. His capital has now increased and since dividends are based on the capital invested, the bigger the share capital, the higher will be the dividends," Mr. Locara said.
Since the capital has increased and the members can't take it out unless he leaves the cooperative, the money is being used for loans to the faculty and staff for increased credit line for the students.
The MPC has been in existence since the birth of the PSHS-WV campus. And since that time, Mr. Locara stated, it is only in the past two years that they have "brought in services which the past officers were not able to do."
This services include the coop minivan which transports students to and from school every morning and afternoon and 12 units of computers for student rentals.
