Today the beams to carry the floor joist went in. Later in the day the guys started installing the floor joist. By the end of the day almost all of the joist were in place. I had to leave early so did not get a picture. I guess I'll have to be at the lot by 7AM to get a picture before work starts. If all goes well and the decking material arrives we should have a lid on this thing by Wednesday or Thursday.
I checked this morning and it looks like almost all of the joist have been installed. Just waiting now for the deck materials to arrive.
This is a look at the basement. To keep the theme of a timberframe home, Jim Clark, the general contractor decided to use 8x12 rough sawn timbers and smooth 8x8 posts in the basement. This touch really adds beauty to the home.
Today the foundation is basically finished. All that needs to be done is the installation of the last couple of support posts that will be used to support the timberframe. This will be done tomorrow. Also the footers for the garage and mudroom have been dug and will be poured Monday morning. Once this is done we will be ready for Alan and his crew of timberframers who will arrive Monday around noon.
