With the floor prep'd yesterday the concrete crew arrived early today, 6:30 AM, to pour the floor. It was going to be a long day. There were some problems with the concrete pump and they got started about 45 minutes late but all went well from there.
Here a power trowel is being used to create a beautiful smooth basement floor. It's like a large buffing machine but has four trowels that do the work.
Once the concrete had set up after the finishing, Greg and AJ used a soft cut saw to score the floor. This will cause the floor to crack on those lines. They finished up about 5:30 PM. It was a long day having started at 6:30 AM.
Yesterday and today we put up the remaining forms that would finish the basement walls. At this time we were just about ready to pour the walls. The large snake on the floor appears dangerous but is very tame. Actually it's not a snake but the hose used for pumping the concrete.
