Well, after four years of planning we are finally under way. They started to dig the foundation on March 29,2005.
Here it is only half way down. Need to go 8 1/2 feet.
This picture is looking North East.
They were down about six feet at this time. As you can see the dirt is dry after about a four foot depth. So far they have not run into any problems with rocks.

They are now at the final depth of
8 1/2 feet. You can see that its been a long time since there was water at this level. The soil is very dry.
Just look at that mound of dirt. Actually the pile of dirt goes back for another 100 feet. They calculated they were going to remove about 1100 cubic yards from the foundation. The builder has a lot about a mile away on a private road so he is going to take a lot of it to build up the road then spread gravel on it. He has several neighbors that are going to chip in on the gravel.
