The first four feet of the foundation is ready for pouring.  The trucks should be showing up any minute.

Ah! here they come now.

The pumper and the first cement truck showed up and the guys are ready to start pumping the concrete. It just took a couple of hours to fill the wall with 20 yards of concrete.  Tomorrow the forms will be removed.

The pump started and here it comes.  It won't take long with this 4" hose.  Since concrete is heavy it takes three guys to handle the hose.  Concrete weighs in at 4,000 pounds for a cubic yard.  These walls have 5/8" rebar spaced on two foot squares and the wall is 8" wide.  This will provide a very strong foundation for the home.

This pour is just the first four feet of the foundation.  We still need to add another six feet.  This should give us a basement with a ceiling height of around nine feet.

Maybe we should make a skating rink down there.  Nah!  We'll find a good use for it.
