Frederic Francois Chopin

Birth: March, 1810 in Zelazowa Wola
Death: October 17, 1849 in Paris

Chopin was born of a French father and Polish mother. But he spent most of his life in Paris. His concerts were attractive events in Parisian society. In spite of the great success as a performer, he couldn't be free from financial problems because he was ill-treated by the publishers. Moreover, he suffered all his life from pains of bronchitis, pneumonia, and tuberculosis. Poland mourned for his premature death at the age of 39.
Chopin valued piano very much and gave important role in his music. Even though he didn't compose on large scale orchestral work, he is well-known for short pieces of music.
