Johann Sebastian BachBirth: March 21, 1685 in Eisenach Death: July 28, 1750 in Leipzig Nowadays, he is regarded as one of the most great musician, but he didn't recieved respect in his lifetime. In 1708 he was a court organist in Weimar. Later he moved to Leipzig and became a cantor at St. Thomas��School. He composed songs for four main churches of the city. His compositions are listed by BWV (Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis). It's a German word which means "Bach Work Catalog". Wolfgang Schmieder undertook to arrange all of Bach's compositions. However, we cannot sure that Bach's works are completely represented in the catalog because of the abundant production.
