Georg Ougendal

Georg Ougendal formally took over the farm from his father in 1919 when Gunder was 56 and Georg just 19. Full of youthful spirit, Georg put more land under the plough, cultivating both in the boggy flats beneath the farm where he increased the fields from 1 to almost 3 acres, and in the areas leading up to Gyland, where you still can find traces of the new grass-species that Hans Kristian brought with him back from America. Most of the cultivating took place between 1919-32.

Georg married Johanna Oline Barstad in April 1930, and it is interesting to see from one of the family-group pictures taken during the wedding that Hans Kristian was home from the US at that time.

Georg ran the farm until the 1960ies when nephew Mandius, who had grown up at Ougendal, took over.

Georg died in 1980 while Johanna died in 19 .
