On the East side of Portland, on top of an extinct volcanic cone, is Mt. Tabor Park.  From a park bench you can sit and enjoy a view that overlooks downtown Portland.  Such an amazing view for still basically being in the city.  On the other side of the mountain, about 100 yards across the top of the park, you get just as good as a view of Mt. Hood.

I don't remember who this guy was, but he is pointing at Portland.  As a measure of just how peaceful this park is, if you notice on the bench to the left of the statue, a couple is sound asleep in the sun.  There used to be a Dog Park here where dogs could run free in a fenced in area...unfortunately some people in the city government shut it down.

But there are still many friends to be made at the park despite the lack of the Dog Park.  Here Ally is taking a break after playing fetch with her new friend.  It is great how two Golden Retrievers can immediately become great friends.  Is this a sign that Ally needs a sister??
