Portland, the City of Roses.  A city that is such a unique place to live.  A decent sized town with a small town feel.  Whether you are riding on the light rail they have here, or walking through parks downtown, you never forget you are in a very unique place.  Time will tell how much I continue to enjoy the city when the winter months, and thus the rain, come in.  Check back....I might change my opinion of this place.  But right now, I can't even imagine it.

A pair of street performers who can always be seen at the Saturday Market.  These two will paint their entire bodies, and sit like statues, breaking their pose only to shake the hands of the people who give money, and plenty of people do.  The girl, in silver, will also break her pose to do an amazing routine with a crystal ball, guiding it around as though it floats on air.

The guy I to refer to as The Standing Guy.  A homeless man that figured out that he had a talent which could help him earn a living.  He balances on top of a Plexiglas box, goes into the pose, and literally will not move for as long as you can watch him.  I am honestly amazed by this guys ability to not even blink, wiggle, or become distracted.  The only time I have seen him break out of his stance is when someone blows smoke in his face, or when a pretty girl walks by...just shows you that he is only human.

One of the side roads you can take from my neighborhood into downtown Portland.  Portland boasts the largest continuous park within city limits.  When you visit, you are walking through a forest, and are no more than a mile from downtown.

In the middle of downtown, and they still let you know that the real thing wildlife is not too far away.  The downtown area is also full of smaller, heavily wooded parks.  It is truly a unique city.

Unfortunately I didn't get a good picture of this, but this is painted on the side of a building that houses one of the many micro-breweries in town.  Portland easily has some of the best home grown beer around.
