The Animal Cell

by Meagan Frappiea

My original plan with this project was to create a giant posterboard cell with detachable organelles that had information written on the back of them. Once I sat down with all of my notes, a few sheets of posterboard, and a box of markers, I realized that it was not going to work. So instead we have an internet-based animal to look at. I am sticking with my original plan to look at the organelles and other cell structures separately, describing their functions and contribution to the cell as a whole. There are two different ways to navigate this site: either click on each organelle within the image of the cell below, or use the written links below that. A few pages can be accessed only by using the written links.

Nucleus

Mitochondria

Peroxisome

Centrioles

Lysosomes

Golgi Apparatus

Endoplasmic Reticulum

The following pages cannot be accessed by using the cell map:

Ribosomes

Extracellular Matrix

The Cytoskeleton

Mitosis: An Overview
