Molly Sweeney

-- Brian Friel

Designer's Notes:

Molly Sweeney is a young woman blind from birth.  This is the story of the operation that restored her sight and it’s affect on her life.  The story is told in the voices of Molly, her husband and the doctor who performed the miracle operation. Each has his or her own space on the stage and takes focus in turns while the others enact some of the story being told. As the story unfolds we explore the meaning of sight and vision and learn of Molly’s frustration and ultimate failure to synthesize and make meaning of her new sight.
