| REFLECTIONS ON STANDARD II |

| As I reflect upon Standard II, I'm reminded that as technology continues to advance, educators must constantly evaluate how they plan and design their technology learning environment. In order to foster growth in the field of educational technology, it is the technology facilitators job to help in the implementation and creation of technology resources that can be utilized in the classroom. It is not only the job of the technology facilitator to create and implement, but also to provide opportunites for all stakeholders to embrass the technology. The article selected for Standard II neatly fits within these concepts because it discusses the importance on making sure that technology is integrated in a meaningful way and that the focus of the lesson remains learner-centered. In order to plan meaninful technology integrated lessons, teachers must ask themselves if the students are actually learning anything by utilizing the technology. If the students are merely drag and clicking, chances are the students really aren't getting much out of it in regards to technology. By creating lessons that are authentic and allow them to use their creativity with the available technologies, you are providing for learning opportunities that are unique and meaningful. |

| Aritifact One for Standard II: Weather Webquest This artifact was created as a classroom resource for students in which students will use appropriate websites in order to complete a webquest that coincides with district and state curriculum standards. This artifact specifically addresses TF-II.C. as this lesson can be used to model technology integration that reflects the content standards in the area of science. I'm particularly fond of this artifact because it focuses on a content area (Science) that I do not consider a personal strength. I figured that if I was going to be serious about becoming a Technology Consultant that I better get experience in creating learning opportunities in all disciplines. Artifact Two for Standard II: Chapter Two of Thesis In conjunction with TF - II.B, this artifact demonstrates my ability to apply current research when planning a thematic lesson. Chapter two of my thesis reflects how I have reviewed, critiqued, and related the literature related to my topic. I honestly feel that after reviewing the liteature, everything I do in my classroom is supported by what the experts in the field are saying. After completing this portion of my thesis, I feel the outcomes I achieve in my classroom with my students are largely based on the findings of proven studies rather than random ideas I concocted in my mind. |
