Episode 31: Jinenji, Kind Yet Sad - Not Alone Anymore
Jinenji has proven himself to the villagers after they had bullied him, and Inuyasha and Kagome are heading back to the rest of the group.
Kagome: Say.
Inuyasha: Huh?
Kagome: Did that happen to you, Inuyasha?
Inuyasha: Like what?
Kagome: Well...like bullying.
Inuyasha: Hah! Stupid! No way I'd have taken it lying down!
Kagome: Oh, you're right. He was bullied.
Inuyasha: *deep in thought* I'm neither one nor the other.
Kagome: Huh?
Inuyasha: I'm not a demon...nor am I human. I don't belong to either. So...I always believed that I had to create my place in life through power. That's how I lived and then I realized... *stops walking* I was all alone. That was the only way I knew how to live.
Kagome: Inuyasha...I...
Inuyasha: *turns to face her*
Kagome: You've made me happy.
Inuyasha: Happy?
Kagome: It's the first time you've opened up to me. I wanted to know about your sad times...the rough times...about your feelings and your thoughts. I'm glad that you talked to me so seriously.
Inuyasha: That makes you happy?
Kagome: *smiles* Uhuh...so sometimes, you can show me your weak side.
Inuyasha: *turns away* Hah! You make it sound like I was whining just now!
Kagome: So what? You're not alone anymore. *starts walking again*
Inuyasha: Not alone? Not alone? Yeah...before I knew it...and yet so naturally...Kagome is by my side.
