The next stage was to test fit the lifting arms. These and the reversing arm will be pinned to the weighshaft. However before they are the lifting arms will require the ends slotting to accept the lifting links and filing to a more aesthetically pleasing profile. The picture below shows the arms propped in place.
The view below was taken on the 4th of January and shows all the completed or nearly completed parts for one loco. Had I put all the parts for both locos in I think I would have needed a wide angle lens!!

With the first wheelset test assembled we test fitted it in the frame. This also allowed me to check the brakegear geometry.
Having started to 'glue' some of the boiler innards together I couldn't resist dropping them into the frames. Looking good :-
