Project X Click On Thumbnails To Enlarge So what is this mysterious project X you may ask - our plan for world domination, the answer to world peace ? Well sorry to disappoint but this is the plan for out next loco. While moving out Alistair found some old petrol lawnmowers in the garden shed. The engines are runners but they don't actually cut grass because other things are knackered. With eyes lit up they were quickly recovered and now they will form the basis of our next loco. A small petrol powered 0-4-0 or 0-6-0 either on 5" gauge or at a push a narrow gauge prototype on 3 1/2" gauge. This is more of a long term project while Conway takes priority. So why project X - well basically we haven't thought up a name yet - it was a choice between project X (which sounds rather exciting) or the thing. We are going to do all the design work ourselves but will be rather unique in that the loco will be created in a virtual 3d model to make sure everything fits before it is physically constructed. WATCH THIS SPACE ! NEW 04/06/2002 We've hit a slight snag - during Alistair's move the engines seem to have gone missing - hence we are now in search of some new engines!!! |
