Basics - Entry Points

When a unit enters a tactical map it will do so on the top or bottom border (USA = row 1, CSA = row 21). Although this cannot be influenced, the player can define the column in which the unit should enter. This can be a very important decision since not only can the units be placed on a tactical map in correlation with other units entering, but the necessary moves to the front lines can be severely shortened.

Entry commands are submitted along with most other commands such as "move" and "fire" and have the following format:

  • entry: 1-15 (15th column for a USA unit)
  • entry: 21-34 (34th column for a CSA unit)

In the example below both sides have entered their units in formations suitable to their goals, instead of simply entering the units in the same column the units were in on the last tactical map (which would have been the case had no "entry" orders been submitted).
