Basics - Command and Supply
Many (but not all) units require supporting units for command and supply. These supporting units are Headquarters (q), Ration Trains (r) and Ordnance Trains (w) and these need to be positioned "close" to the units being supported.

Ration Trains and Headquarter units need to be no more than 2 strategic (green on map) squares removed from the units they intend supporting (see "R" and "Q" on map).

Ordnance Trains need to be in the same strategic square as the units they support and not farther away than 10 tactical (yellow on map) squares (see "W" on map).

In the example above the Infantry unit will be supplied with ammunition while the artillery unit is outside the supply range of the Ordnance Train.

Note: A future article will discuss the repercussions of being "out of supply" and/or "not in command" in detail..
