And a matching lamp!

Bob and I spent DAYS (and it should have taken hours) to make this roman shade for the guest room. Bob second-guessed every single move we made (he says "not every single move.. just almost every single move.) I was close to stringing him up at times, but in the end, I have to admit I really enjoyed doing this project with him.

Now, credit where credit is due:

Debby at http://www.make-roman-shades.com was a tremendous help! Her free pattern and kind emails were what made this shade look as though it were professionally done.

For the new lampshade, I found the greatest thing at Hobby Lobby! (but you have to go to Hancock Fabrics to see one online!) It's called Hollywood Lights and it is a self adhesive lamp shade that is really easy to do!  You can position and reposition the fabric on the shade to get any creases out. I used permanent fabric glue to "hem" the seam and adhere the overlapping fabric to the shade. To make it have a more professional look, I rolled the bottom of the fabric to make a finished edge before I glued it to the lamp. Then I glued the trim on and voila I have a lampshade! I need to buy the actual lamp to put the shade on (this shade is shown on my bedroom lamp which really doesn't match the shade very well), and then I start my next project of making a neckroll pillow for the bed. Someday, I will have a mattress set for the bed as well as a bedspread and then we can have visitors! But this will have to do for now!
