Brougham Primary School.
After getting involved in a Community Awareness Awards Scheme, organised by the Community Resource Centre at Chatham Road, the winning pupils from Brougham Primary School are presented Community Awareness Awards.
|
This award scheme will maximise the involvement of children through the school system,
and insure that children and education are linked into strategic partnership aims. They will be aimed at the children in the
Neighbourhood Renewals of Dyke House and Jackson wards.
The task involved a piece of written, drawn or painted work with the theme "Where we live now, and what we would like to see in the future". The purpose is to raise the awareness of all school aged children of their communities, and to encourage them to be involved in the participation process.
This will be an annual award (for the next 2 years), thereby allowing children's observations of the changes that are taking
place, and this is to be gauged over time.

Brougham Area Newsletter.
Residents Association Issue 1. 12th April 2002.
Welcome to the first issue of the Brougham Area Residents Association Newsletter. We hope this will become a regular publication to keep you informed of all that is happening in your area. Our first meeting was on 22nd March 2002, over 20 people attended. There was a lively discussion on a wide range
of topics concerning the area. Just to mention a few, the plot of land on the corner of Turnbull Street and Brougham Terrace, Security Gates for back lanes and police patroling of the area.
A committee was elected. There were contributions from local beat policeman, the area wardens and Eddie Price. To celebrate the Queens Golden Jubilee Willow Walk and Dyke House Residents Associations have started organising a party at the Old Boys Ruby Club, Easington Road on Monday 3rd June 2002.
They have invited us to join them. The cost will be £2.50 per adult, with the possibility of a family ticket, price to be arranged. More information on this will be available shortly.
|
Berard Williams, Neighbourhood Services Director, Hartlepool Borough Council opened the Community House at 29 Chatham Road on Thursday 28th March 2002. The Community House will be available to members of the residents associations in the area for meetings, training, resources etc. Eddie Price Resident
