"The groups continue as well, initially there was only 4 groups involved, now they are 7. From 200 members it has grown to 800 members. So we are taking about alot of people concerned about there community. Wanting to do things in their community. The future is a a partnership, fortunately this is a true partnership with the people working with us".

Peter Mandelson MP continues...
"We have always had a stong spirit, but what we have lacked sometimes in the past is organisation. And thats why I welcome what Communities acting Together is doing in Dyke House. Not just using the resources that are available from the Government but empowering the local community, regenerating the neighbourhood, creating the sort of enviroment in which we want to bring up the young, look after the elderly, fight the anti-social and criminal elements and build strong families as a basis for our communties. Thats why I applaud whats going on here, and it will have all my support in the future".

Hopes for the Future.
"The resource centre will change behond recognition in the next 2 to 3 months. A major centre is being built there. The first of its type for the people of Dyke House. It will have adult education, providing an IT suite, trainers delivering training that the residents are workingf for their community. The residents are more professional now in there approach to people. They are looking to the future, they are very bright, they are thinking, they are not rushing into things, thinking about their community, their future, not for themselves.".

"They are looking at themselves now as custodians for the future, for the children into the project. I think that the future that lies ahead, the next 12 months, who knows what will happen with a group like this".
