Summer Activities
With lower enrollment during the summer we will be out and about on the town visiting parks and running errands.  I will try to let you know in advance when we are going to be out and about, but sometimes it is just spontaneous.
Reminder also, to PLEASE close the front door at pick ups and drop offs when the air conditioning is on.   I would appreciate everyone helping to ensure the door is closed behind you.
Thank you!

Sunscreen
A reminder to apply sunscreen in the a.m. BEFORE arrival. I will reapply in the afternoon as they awake from p.m. naps.

Vacation
If you have dates for any upcoming vacations, please let me know so that I can mark them on the calendar.  At this time, my family does not have anything planned.  Although, I do expect to take some time off in July and again in August for the KC BBQ.  I will let you know as soon as Randy and I confirm these dates.

Overview of Creative Curriculum and the Project Approach- 2 hours

Creative Curriculum
In the last newsletter I shared with you how blocks are important learning tools for children.  One of the childrens favorites is dramatic play.  I have shared many stories with you in their journals on the characters the girls have all portrayed.  You will find information attached on the benefits of dramatic play in childrens lives.  I do have a lot of dramatic play furniture and equipment.   My idea is to work together on making occupational prop boxes.   I am not asking anyone to go to a lot of expense on this, just things that might work that you have lying around the house.  Attached is a sheet with examples of some prop boxes and materials we could include in the prop boxes. The kids will love it and get so much enjoyment out of it.
Please see attached sheets for information on how different ages grow developmentally through dramatic play.
