The Derbes Family

On my last trip to Salt Lake City I found a book, written by Vincent J. Derbes and Bertrand Paquet, titled "The Derbes Family".  This book provides the basis for most of the information I know about our Derbes ancestors.

Alexandre Derbes came to New Orleans as a young man of 15 to help his uncle in his business. During his life Alexandre was a lawyer and judge and the US Consul to the Port of Marseilles. Alexandre's daughter, Odille, married Nicholas Octave Verloin deGruy in 1866.
