The Stern Family
Joseph Stern and his two bothers, one of whom was named Max, left Germany for New York about 1875. Joseph married Esther Brettenheimer of Baltimore, and their eldest son, Jerome was born in 1883 in New York. Joseph's occupation at that time was a bookkeeper. Joseph died in 1924 in Chicago. Jerome married Stella Coroy in New Orleans in 1924. Jerome and Stella raised their 3 daughters in New Orleans. Jerome died in New Orleans in 1946.
