I was in the main street bar In the town of Lamar When the fight broke out that day. That old boy sure was jealous That's all I have to say. Now I stood up because I thought That was what he wanted done I wasn't trying to pick a fight Just trying to have some fun. So I looked at him with a grin I said give me another chance I didn't know she was your girlfriend When I asked her to dance. Then I hit him hard right across His fist With the flat part of my nose I rocked backward on my heals Then forward on my toes By the time I got my balance I was lying on the floor My vision was getting blurry And my nose was getting sore. I thought I couldn't just lay here I've got way too much pride Then I think I almost broke his toe When he kicked me in the side. Then just to prove how brave I am And that I have no fear I hardly even screamed at all When he was biting on my ear. My ear was kinda dangling And the blood began to flow I thought he obviously didn't understand How much Karate I know. Then he looked down at me And said don't you get up acting bad Cause your going to mess around Until you make me mad. Now you get up to your table And you can finish your beer You pick up your change then Get your butt outta here. Next time you come in here You better carry a knife Because that girl wasn't my girlfriend That woman was my wife.
