Police beating people We said it couldn't be so, There we looked in disbelief When we saw the video. We went about our business We didn't make a fuss, We said thats out in L.A It has nothing to do with us, When the trial was over They said it was OK. We listened again in disbelief At what this jury had to say, Riots in the streets. Blacks beating whites, If the police could beat Rodney, That made it seems all right. Military in our streets, For the whole world to see. We looked once more in disbelief, When we saw it in T.V. Can this be one nation under God? That was what we ask. A house divided will not stand, So we really have a task. How can we do it, Where shall we start? We all want peace, Deep in our hearts. Christ told us how to do it, Forget about color and race, Just love your neighbor as yourself, and everything else will fall into place.
