He seldom, if ever missed a day; I don't guess he was ever late. He was always here when I arrived; I would leave when he was locking the gate. Now J.R. says that he's retiring and going to enjoy life. To spend more time in his workshop And more time with his wife. With all that time he will have, We wonder what he will do. Grow in a bigger garden And maybe some flowers too? After 40 years at the brick plant He sure deserved a rest We all hope his golden years Will be his very best. Sometimes when he was mad He would yell and act downright rude. Then tell us as he was leaving We better change our attitude. We wonder whom he will yell at When he is no longer here. Spending all that time at home, Will he learn to say yes dear. I'm sure that we will miss old Bull, But I think our greatest fear, Is if this doesn't work out, He might come back next year.
