Though her father insisted he was taking every security precaution, Shiorah was the victim of an assassination attempt on an almost weekly basis. She began to plead with Kukahn to allow her to leave the government square, he insisted all politicians lived in the square, and that she would be ostricized if she didn't follow suit.
When Jay Vidar was taken into custody, Shiorah believed the little bit of human in her would be just what it took to get him to talk. Before she got the chance, she discovered that it was her father who had orchestrated all the assassination attempts. Seizing the opportunity, she aided Jay in escaping and ran off with him to join the Remnant.
A halfbreed was an ideal figurehead for a group believing in human/Shishohn unity, and with her political roots, the Remnant began planning her ascension to the top. The media provided them plenty of time to make things work, announcing that Jay Vidar had kidnapped Shiorah. Before they could publicly present her, Spires was attacked.
To gain leverage on the Second Genesis troops approaching the tiny island, Jay made use of the media coverup and delivered an ultimatum with Shiorah as collateral. They demanded her return in exchange for the safety of Spires, and after much deliberation, Shiorah turned herself over to them. Her fate is unsure at this point. |
