With the discovery of a new planet also came the discovery of new materials. One such material, called Shiranium, lead to the development of the A-1 Fighter. As it becomes malleable only at extremely cold temperatures, it rendered the ship indestructable. Using Shishohn fighting techniques as a guide, the A-1 was designed as a ramming ship, intended to lock onto a ship and then fly through it. The front of the ship is a large, blade-like fin, used to cut straight through opposing ships. The cockpit is covered with a Shiranium visor immediately before impact, and once moving along the correct course, the jet engines are also closed up. With this battle method, the A-1s proved a lethal threat. However, in order to maintain their impervious state, they often have to fly without use of a windshield. In such situations, the battle area is seeded with tiny satellites that feed info through a Guardian Control Ship, which relays the images to computer screens encompassing the cockpit interior. Before the creation of the X-41, the A-1 was the starfighter of choice of the Shishohn Empire, and so when the X-41 was made illegal, Second Genesis picked the line back up. They are now commonly seen accompanied by Gorilla Battle Suits. |
