Zahk and Mahrih were a well-matched pair, and their arranged marriage blossomed into a strong bond of kinship and love. Mahrih was very wise, and Zahk often placed his confidence in her above all others. After her husband completed the training provided at the temple, Mahrih asked that Zahk sponsor her entrance into the order of the Kahma'Si, as females cannot enter into the temple without the approval of a male Kahma'Si. She was accepted, and although she was not comfortable with being a warrior, she excelled athletically and academically.
As her final test, she was sent on a religious defense mission to a human community. There, she and several other new Kahma'Si took part in the slaughter of hundreds of people believed to be members of a dangerous cult. While she watched these people massacred, Mahrih first began to think outside the realm of her upbringing. The will of Shishohra the Mother Goddess surely did not involve such bloodshed. She began sparing people, even standing between her teammate and a small child.
Soon after, the elders were informed of her softness. They called Mahrih and her husband before their court, banishing Mahrih from their ranks and demanding that Zahk divorce her immediately or suffer her same sentence. Zahk would not abandon his wife, believing her even above the elders of his religion. They were given one night
to gather their things and were to be thrown out of the city the next day.
As luck would have it, Saturn Flight was being formed up at this time, and the Kahma'Si were asked to contribute two members. Reluctant to unify themselves with
another task force and concerned about the effects human mentalities could have on their members, they instead offered Zahk and Mahrih as their representatives.
The couple was with Saturn Flight through to the end, and Mahrih reaffirmed her belief in the purpose of humans in Shishohra's grand plan. When Saturn Flight was disbanded, she found her new home in the Remnant, where the message of human/Shishohn unity inspired her to aid in the theft of the Saturn X-41s. She and Zahk are currently doing all they can to see that the world hears the words of the Remnant and ensure the safety of those who place their trust in it. |
