Jess Sutr grew up in the village of Mah Shahr'ohn, a religious community in the mountains surrounding the capital. She was a rebellious teen, much to the distress of her mother and father. Jess dreamed of escaping the conservative world she knew, so when she turned 15, she ran away from home with an older man. She ended up alone at the Monument. With nowhere else to go, she made herself at home within the stone walls of the building.
Not long after, Mah Shahr'ohn was the site of a horrible slaughter. Jess returned to see what had become of her family, but only her brother, Zephaniah, could be found. When her parents' will was found, Jess discovered that she had been written out of it. In hopes of gaining something from the ordeal, she took Zeph, the sole heir, to live at the Monument. With his newfound wealth, she got an apartment within the tower.
Years later, after Zeph was recruited for Saturn Flight as a replacement pilot, the squadron was dissolved, and Jess found herself surrounded by ex-SF pilots making their new home within the Monument. In no time, she made her way into their social realm, and has since spent some time with each one of the single male pilots. She had a fairly long-term relationship with Chris Spellman, and has recently returned to his arms for unknown reasons.
Jess became friends with Kit Ymir, and though they don't see eye to eye on issues
regarding love and dating, Kit often comes to Jess for advice, especially since Jolee
began to attract Jay's interest. It remains to be seen how far Jess will drag Kit down,
but one thing's for sure: with Jess in Kit's corner, Jay had better be ready. |
