The object turned out to be Saturn 1, and among the wreckage she found Jay Vidar. She helped him with his injuries and took care of him throughout the night. That very same night, her village was destroyed by a Battle Suit in pursuit of Jay.
The next day, Jolee lead Jay back to her village only to find its ruins still smoking. Torn apart, she wandered obliviously through the rubble until the Battle Suit, still searching the area, located her. He confronted her, insistant on learning the location of Jay Vidar. In a rage, she screamed at the Gorilla Battle Suit, causing it to attack. The result was explosive, as Jolee lost control of herself and unleashed hurricane-level winds on the Suit, destroying it with one of its own blasts.
Since Jolee had nowhere left to go, Jay offered her the hospitality of the Remnant. She believed in the unity of Human and Shishohn, but didn't agree with the methods of the Remnant, so on uncertain terms, she accepted. Only a few hours later, both Jay and Jolee were captured by Second Genesis troops investigating the scene. She was held captive and tortured in front of Jay in hopes of getting him to break. Second Genesis planned to test a new nerve gas on her, but before they got the opportunity, Shiorah rescued them both from the prison. On the resulting trip back to the Monument, where Jay planned to keep her safe until she had recovered from the shock of her village's destruction, Jay revealed that he had been the cause of the Battle Suit's arrival. Jolee was horrified to discover this of her guardian, and promptly made plans to leave the Remnant.
On her way out, Jolee mistook Zeph for a stalker and nearly gets herself killed escaping him, only to have him save her from a sniper. Willing to give him a chance to redeem himself, Jolee allows Zeph to take her to the island of Spires, where they take refuge from the Second Genesis fleet at the home of a Shishohn named Auhdrey.
Just when they think they're safe, a Gorilla Battle Suit lands in their front yard. Zeph's fate seems imminent when Jolee, torn apart by the trauma of seeing another
helpless town about to be destroyed, begins to manifest her powers again. To her surprise, Auhdrey coaches her into gaining control over it, and she narrowly saves Zeph.
Jolee is currently hiding out with Auhdrey, much to the frustration of Jay, who has launched a mission to reclaim her. |
