| The classroom teacher, the teacher aides, and
the entire school staff are here to help you, the student.
Roosevelt Alternative School ensures that each faculty and staff member
is highly qualified to work with students who benefit from an
non-traditional educational program. Each teacher is required to
maintain their certification for their particular teaching
assignment. The campus counselor is a Licensed Professional
Counselor and certified in specialized areas of counseling that serve
our students. To ensure high performance teaching and learning,
Roosevelt Alternative School uses a comprehensive performance management
system which addresses individual goal-setting, related assessment
measures and continuous professional development. We will guide
you, the student, we will encourage you, the student, and we will
provide you with the necessary opportunity to be successful. You
will be expected to make a sincere effort to all educational and social
skill assignments that are given to you. Bi-weekly progress
reports will be provided to the parents. The progress report must
be signed by the parent and returned to the teacher.
Mr.
Charles Floodine, our Social Studies teacher brings 28 years of
experience to Roosevelt Alternative School. He says, "My
students are working in a portfolio format at their own pace.
While I follow the home campus timelines I often find the students
further ahead in the curriculum than the timelines call for thanks to
the portfolio format."
