| 1. While assigned to
this campus, you are prohibited from attending or participating in any
school-sponsored related activity, unless otherwise directed by the
principal. In addition, you will not return to your home campus
nor enter any other school campus during your enrollment at Roosevelt
Alternative School. Your behavior while at this campus will be
closely monitored and repeated offenses of the Code of Conduct or
criminal laws will result in extensions to your stay, expulsion
proceedings and/or criminal presecution.
2. Initially you will report to this campus with
nothing more than your assigned textbooks. You will introduce NOTHING,
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING else when you report this this campus.
3. To avoid distractions from other students you
will be asked to sit in a specific desk. Once you enter the
classroom, we expect for you to get your work and sit in your assigned
desk. We will inform you if a change in the seating arrangement is
necessary. Once you have been seated in the assigned desk, you
will be issued paper and pencil and your assignment. You are
expected to do your own work. Do not copy from others. If
you need help, ask the teacher or the staff to help you. We can
help only one student at a time. Wait for your turn to be helped
by sitting at your desk quietly and raise your hand. Do not
distract other student who are doing their work by talking or asking
them questions. Make sure that you work on the assignment you are
given. Do not write notes, letters, or draw pictures. Doing
this will result in point deductions on your card. Anytime you
finish an assignment, notify your teacher and wait patiently until you
are given another assignment. If you need to sharpen your pencil,
you will ask do it for you. Do not break the lead of your pencil
intentionally or try to keep the lead. Tis will lead us to believe
that you want to use the lead to write elsewhere. This can only
result in point deductions for the student. Failure to follow
these rules after being warned or reminded will result in a fine.
Some teachers may give you a folder to keep all your work in. Do
not write or draw anything on this folder. It should only have
your name which the teacher will write on the folder. Keep your
files in order at all times. Do not lend your folder to
another student.
4. Male students will not be allowed to bring
billfolds, combs, or hair brushes. Female students will not be
allowed to bring a purse, makeup nor wear jewelry of any kind.
Male and female students will not wear watches, rings, or
earrings. Students will not wear piercing devices or strings
in their ears or any other parts of their bodies. Pens, pencils,
mark-o-lots, cell phones, beepers, purses, makeup, billfolds, combs,
hair brushes as

well as any jewelry will be confiscated.
Confiscated items will be returned to the students parents at the end of
the students assignment to Roosevelt Alternative School.
5. During your attendance at this campus you
will respect our staff, all other students, all public and private
property, and above all yourself. You will not lie, cheat, or
steal and you will conduct yourself in a socially acceptable
manner. You will do what your are told and do it at the time you
are told to do it.
6. All students will be addressed by their
proper name and you will address all staff by Mister (last name) or Miss
(last name). You will not refer to anyone in a derogatory voice or
manner. Students are prohibited from threating, harassing, or
otherwise attempting to intimidate other students who wear or display
specific colors or clothing.
7. While on this campus, you will not go
anywhere without specific instructions to do so. When instructed
to report to a designated area, you will be escorted by a member of the
staff until you have earned the right to move about without
supervision. If you wish to see a counselor, you are to write down
your name and GROUP number on a piece of paper and give it to a teacher,
an aide, or a security officer. The counselor will then have you
escorted to his/her office. Class
size is kept small so individual students can benefit from
teacher-student interactions.
8. The Roosevelt
Alternative School is a closed campus and you will arrive and depart
this campus through the designated areas only. Use of school
telephones will not be allowed, except if there is a personal or family
emergency. Only those persons with official school business and
students currently enrolled at Roosevelt Alternative School are allowed
on campus. Unauthorized persons found on campus will be considered
trespassers and are subject to criminal prosecution.
9. Roosevelt Alternative School students are not
to leave a specifically assigned area or the school campus at anytime
without written authorization by the principal or his designee.
Bus students will be directed to the bus area at the proper time where
you will remain until you board your assigned bus. If you leave this
area for any reason without permission, you bus privileges WILL be
revoked. Any misbehavior on the bus will also result in loss of
your bus privileges.
