Rachelle Hollinger was unbeatable at this weekend's Sask Cup Slalom races hosted by the Battlefords Ski Club at Table Mountain, near North Battleford. Hollinger walked away with two gold medals as well as the two prizes awarded to the fastest female each day. Rachelle also laid claim to being the fastest of all (male and female) during the races on Saturday. Aaron Fenwick also had a very successful weekend capturing two gold medals in the K2 men's category. Aaron found himself in second after the first run on Sunday but managed to battle back to win the second run by enough to claim top spot. These two athletes led the way as all QVSC's racers gained points to help our club hold onto first place. Following are those QVSC members who earned a medal or ribbon on the weekend:

J4's Compete At Mission Ridge
Regina Ski Club hosted the first J4 competition of the season at Mission Ridge Winter Park in Fort Qu'Appelle. I have been unable to find the results from this race, so if anyone knows how the QVSC participants fared, please contact Kirk Cochrane (phone 332-5592 or e-mail: [email protected]) so we can have them posted here.

Nancy Greene Ski League Has First Race
The first team competition of the season for the Nancy Greene Ski League participants was held at Mission Ridge Winter Park. Regina Ski Club was also the host for this southern semi-final event for our youngest skiers. Although not too many teams showed up everyone had a great time and all the volunteers and coaches did a wonderful job making sure this was a FUN day for everyone. Once all the times from the various age groups were tallied the Qu'Appelle Valley Ski Club Nancy Greeners managed to place first. Excellent job to all who participated!
