Special Bird Song by heyday
If I was a bird, I’d sing you a special bird song; A melody yours alone, where there is no wrong. I’d sing to you from the top of the highest tree; And let the notes come out unrestricted and free.
My tune would float in the air soft as goose down; In an upbeat tempo taking away your meanest frown. They would cascade on your ears, a musical waterfall; As I sang to you things proper and true, giving my all.
Not a mockingbirds artificial and untrustworthy tune; Nor the insane chirpings and silly songs of a silly loon; My chords to you would have the majesty of a blue jay; And the tempo of a whipporwill on a new spring day.
For it would be the song of celebrating the joy of you. The song a bird happily sings over mornings fresh dew. As an eagle soars above us as a poem decorating the sky; I would sing to you so you, too, would take up wings and fly. |
